I am so excited for this series!! A question for Part 4: how to decide when a piece is worth investing in, vs. picking up a more affordable version of a similar piece. (Also, a quick plug for the Pinterest Save Chrome extension. It allows you to add almost any photo to a Pinterest board outside of Pinterest. Has made my life much easier!)

Hi Rebecca, Thank you so much for this question, it is SUCH a good one. I have added it to the draft. As a matter of fact, it's relevant to what I am going to address in Part 2, so might even reply to it earlier. I have also pinned your comment because that's super helpful about the Chrome extension. Sounds like a game changer and I can't wait to try when I am next browsing. Xx

Hi there! Thank you so much for choosing to support the newsletter! It means the world. I'm so glad you liked this series. In the late summer/early autumn, I will publish more about personal style processes and finding inspiration. Stay tuned for that, and I hope you'll find it equally helpful! Xx

Hi Liza,

Your content is absolutely brilliant. You shed light on things that are obvious yet easily forgotten by so many of us (fast fashion doesn't mind of course if it means encouraging more mindless spending). I've written to you on instagram about writing book (I'm a London-based literary agent), in case you're looking for representation.

Recent follower thanks to this great post! I especially like your call out of the difference between a Bella Hadid (micro trend influencer) and Zoe Kravitz (style die hard). I think SO many of the style icons that get consistently referenced (a la CBK) fall into Kravitz territory.

Thank you so much! I am so glad you like this post. I totally agree re-difference between fashion and style icon. I am a CBK fan forever and ever. Xx

This is great, I have been following this technique since you shared this on IG back a few months ago. I have my icons and style, I can’t wait for next steps! Going into fall, I am anxiously awaiting to buy a few good staples.

Thank you Anthonella! I hope it helped that I went more in depth here. Sounds like you have done a great job already finding the right people to add to your moodboard. I am in the same boat as you with regards Fall wardrobe. I have already started a few pieces. I think Part 2 will help you and there's a few fall style features coming up after I wrap up this Personal Style series! Lots of love Xx

This is fantastic, thank you so much! One question I’ve been pondering recently is what to do when your taste (what you would most like to wear and enjoy seeing on others) diverges from what looks best on you in reality? I have an aesthetic preference for masculine tailoring, neutrals and clean lines, but look best in softer, more feminine fitted clothes due to my body shape. What to do!

This is such a good question and there are so many stylistic ways to feel confident even in styles that at first glance don’t look good. AND I am inspired to mention Leandra Cohen’s original blog Man Repeller, and the concept of dressing outside the parameters of what is flattering and the male gaze. (Of course sometimes we just want to feel cute, though!)
